چکیده

Prior studies have examined the ability of Moringa oleifera (MO) seed extract, among other natural coagulants, to remove several types dyes. MO has been proven a high capacity some anionic The aim present study is explore possible use aqueous and saline extracts as biocoagulants for removal Mordant Black (MB11) from solution. Their performances were compared that aluminum sulfate (alum). To do so, various operating parameters investigated such coagulant dose (100–600 mg/L), pH (3–11), initial dye concentration (100–350 sodium chloride (0.2–2 M), sedimentation time (15–90 min). maximum percentages MB11 found be 98.65%, 80.12%, 95.02% alum, extract (MOPW), (MOPS), respectively, at around 6.5 doses 400 mg/L (alum) 500 (MOPW MOPS). coagulation-flocculation mechanism was hypothesized adsorption charge neutralization. two MOPS) showed an interesting versatility towards counter alum which very sensitive this parameter. variations measured three coagulants negligible biocoagulants. Faster recorded when MOPW MOPS used, suggesting existence larger quickly settleable flocs. Considering their coagulative capacity, rapid cost-effective preparation, eco-friendly character, can considered powerful alternatives in remediation wastewaters.

Assessment of the Use of Moringa oleifera Seeds for Removal of Manganese Ions from Aqueous Systems

Moringa oleifera seeds were investigated for the removal of manganese ions from aqueous solutions. The seeds utilized were obtained from plants grown in Uberlândia, Brazil. After being dried and pulverized, the seeds were treated with 0.1 mol L -1 NaOH. Using the optimized methodology (50 mL of 4.0 mg L -1 Mn(II), pH range of 4.0–6.0, contact time of 5 min, and biosorbent mass of 0.5 g) it was ...

Evaluation of Cytotoxic and Anti-Inflammatory Activities of Extracts and Lectins from Moringa oleifera Seeds

BACKGROUND The extract from Moringa oleifera seeds is used worldwide, especially in rural areas of developing countries, to treat drinking water. M. oleifera seeds contain the lectins cmol and WSMoL, which are carbohydrate-binding proteins that are able to reduce water turbidity because of their coagulant activity. Studies investigating the ability of natural products to damage normal cells are...
